Same loot for all IS weird!

I'm not saying I want that, it's just an option that some games offer (Sacred 2, apparently...which I've never played).

I think I prefer the "instanced" loot option (Diablo iii Gold); either that or the round robin type system with Need/Greed for rarer stuff.

But, my gaming experience is that I VERY rarely do PUGs...and the friends I game with all look out for each other and share when they find something that another could use.

I just don't understand why anyone would want a "shared" loot system. Once again, if you're playing with friends, it shouldn't (doesn't) matter. But, when you play with randoms, it's just a crap-shoot...and potentially disastrous. Here's an example,

You're running in a PUG...and you notice one or two people rushing to pick up all the loot before all enemies have been killed. And they're not really offering up anything to the others...they're not playing as a team. So, it just devolves into EVERYONE doing that. Group wipe. Let's call it a day. Disband. Lather, rinse, repeat...

Why even put up with the headache of that? Yeah, yeah...there's inventory management, and eventually they'll be full. But, then you deal with (a) them sorting through the shit and dropping the crap, or (b) running back to sell shit. Either way, they're not contributing to the main goal...killing shit and playing as a team.
